A former resident of Duncansville, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to 30 months in federal prison for her involvement in a methamphetamine trafficking organization. This will be followed by three years of supervised release. The sentencing comes after a six-month Title III wiretap investigation into drug trafficking activities across Blair, Cambria, Centre, and Clearfield counties.
United States District Judge Stephanie L. Haines delivered the sentence to Tonya Settlemyer, aged 40. Information presented in court revealed that Settlemyer played a role in assisting Jason Lynn, who led an Altoona-based drug trafficking organization distributing large quantities of methamphetamine throughout the Western District of Pennsylvania.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan D. Lusty on behalf of the government. Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti praised multiple agencies for their efforts in leading to Settlemyer's successful prosecution. These agencies include the Drug Enforcement Administration, United States Postal Service—Office of Inspector General, United States Postal Inspection Service, Homeland Security Investigations, Internal Revenue Service, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, and Pennsylvania State Police.
This prosecution is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation. OCDETF aims to identify and dismantle high-level drug traffickers and criminal organizations through a coordinated approach involving various law enforcement agencies.
