Lancaster man sentenced after high-speed chase at border checkpoint

U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo has announced the sentencing of Da’Ron Lipscomb, a 33-year-old resident of Lancaster, New York. Lipscomb was sentenced to six months in prison following his conviction for high-speed flight from an immigration checkpoint. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Charles M. Kruly, who managed the case, detailed the events leading to Lipscomb's conviction. On June 26, 2024, Lipscomb approached the primary inspection booth at the Peace Bridge Port of Entry in Buffalo while driving a vehicle. He was instructed by a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer to proceed to secondary inspection but instead drove through the port of entry onto I-190 at speeds exceeding the limit. Pursued by marked CBP vehicles, Lipscomb eventually lost control and crashed his vehicle.

The investigation that led to Lipscomb's sentencing was conducted by Customs and Border Protection under the leadership of Director of Field Operations Rose Brophy.
