Senate Agriculture Committee chairman acknowledges intern contributions

U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman John Boozman has recognized the contributions of four students who served as interns for the committee during the summer. These interns played a role in assisting with efforts to improve program efficiency and support American farm families.

“These interns have been a great help to the committee as we work to make programs within its jurisdiction more efficient while supporting America’s farm families. I appreciate their interest in agriculture and dedication to learning about crafting policies to help farmers succeed. This is an interesting time to be on Capitol Hill and I’m confident they found this to be a valuable experience,” Boozman stated.

The internship program included Riley Swofford, Caroline Brickey, Jaiden Stansberry, and Flossie Glinski, who participated in a five-week session that offered them exposure to legislative processes. The interns worked closely with committee staff, interacted with farmers and ranchers, conducted legislative research, and observed the operations of a Senate committee. They also had the opportunity to shadow Chairman Boozman.

Riley Swofford is pursuing studies at the University of Arkansas in agriculture communications and political science. Originally from Bee Branch, Arkansas, he plans a career in political communication.

Caroline Brickey from Memphis is studying agriculture business at the University of Arkansas with minors in agriculture leadership and legal studies. She intends to pursue agricultural law after law school.

Jaiden Stansberry recently graduated from the University of Montana with degrees in forestry and fire sciences management. She aims for a career in public land management following her master's degree in public policy.

Flossie Glinski hails from Damascus, Arkansas, having graduated from Arkansas Tech University with qualifications in journalism and public relations. Her career aspirations lie within marketing and communications for Arkansas agriculture.
