U.S. Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer commented on the June 2025 Employment Situation Report, highlighting the creation of 147,000 jobs in the month. She attributed this growth to President Trump's policies.
"Last month’s strong jobs numbers show that our economy continues to surge under President Trump’s leadership," Chavez-DeRemer stated. She noted that economic indicators have been positive for several months, reflecting what she describes as a "great American comeback."
Chavez-DeRemer emphasized the impact of President Trump's "America First agenda," which she believes has reversed previous policies that "shipped jobs overseas and drove up prices." According to her, these new policies are leading to rising wages and decreasing prices.
As part of her "America at Work listening tour," Chavez-DeRemer mentioned that people across the country are expressing dissatisfaction with past policies and support for current economic strategies. "Now, they have a President who is fighting for them and delivering results," she said.
Looking ahead, Chavez-DeRemer expressed optimism about future legislation. "We’re just getting started," she said, referring to plans to present a significant tax cut bill known as the One Big Beautiful Bill. The proposed legislation aims to deliver substantial tax cuts for working families and eliminate taxes on overtime pay while reducing costs for small businesses.
