Chief Jason Owens United States Border Patrol | U.S. Customs and Border Protection
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced a temporary suspension of operations at the Amistad Dam International crossing, located on Texas Spur 349 in Del Rio, Texas. This closure is set to begin on Saturday, July 5, 2025, and is expected to last until Friday, August 1, 2025. The decision to close the crossing temporarily stems from maintenance issues.
The CBP clarified that hours at the Del Rio Port of Entry and cargo operations will not be affected by this suspension.
Travelers are reminded by CBP of the importance of using radio frequency identification documents such as U.S. passport cards or newer versions of border crossing cards and resident alien cards for smoother processing through Ready Lanes. Travelers should also have their entry documents ready upon approaching the booth. Wait times at the Del Rio Port of Entry can be monitored online at https://bwt.cbp.gov/index.html.
