Michele Beckwith Acting U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of California
Yasmin Charisse Millett, a 22-year-old from Oakland, has been sentenced to two years and four months in prison for her involvement in bank robbery. The sentencing was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Michele Beckwith and delivered by Chief U.S. District Judge Troy L. Nunley.
Court documents reveal that between June 2023 and September 2024, Millett and her co-conspirators executed at least ten bank robberies across various California cities including Sacramento, Vallejo, Suisun City, Benicia, Concord, and Antioch. Millett's role involved recruiting individuals to enter banks or credit unions with sunglasses, a purse, and a threatening demand note instructing employees to hand over money or face violent consequences.
One incident on July 17, 2023, involved Millett using a stolen white Audi A7 with tinted windows during a robbery at a Suisun City credit union. She provided instructions to an accomplice who then entered the bank with a threatening note demanding money under the threat of violence. After the robbery was completed successfully, the group divided the stolen money among themselves.
The following day, law enforcement stopped the stolen vehicle driven by Millett. Officers discovered bait money from the previous day's robbery as well as a crumpled demand note inside the car.
Co-defendants Dontae Jones Jr., 20, and JoMya Mauriyne Futch, 21—both pleaded guilty to one count of bank robbery on April 17, 2025—and are awaiting sentencing scheduled for August 7th.
This case is part of an investigation conducted by FBI field offices in San Francisco and Sacramento with assistance from several local police departments across California. Assistant U.S. Attorney Whitnee Goins is prosecuting this case.
