Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has issued a statement addressing the rise in assaults against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers, which have increased by nearly 700 percent. This surge is linked to efforts by certain groups to dox ICE officers and their families in Oregon.
The doxxing websites aim to reveal the identities of ICE officers, placing them and their families at risk from gangs such as Tren de Aragua and MS-13. "We will prosecute those who dox ICE agents to the fullest extent of the law. These criminals are taking the side of vicious cartels and human traffickers," said Secretary Noem. "We won’t allow it in America."
Federal law enforcement has faced attacks nationwide, including gunfire on Border Patrol and ICE officers in Texas over the Fourth of July weekend, resulting in serious injuries.
Groups responsible for doxing include Portland-based anarchist and Antifa-affiliated "Rose City Counter-Info" and "The Crustian Daily." They have published personal information about ICE officers online. Fliers with threatening messages have been distributed in neighborhoods where these officers reside.
An ICE facility in Portland has also been targeted by rioters who have attacked officials, destroyed property, and posted death threats. Graffiti outside reads “Kill Your Masters.” Trespassing incidents on personal properties of officials have also been reported.
Prominent politicians are accused of encouraging these attacks by criticizing federal law enforcement, not cooperating with immigration enforcement, and even assaulting law enforcement themselves.
Sanctuary cities like Portland hinder cooperation between local police and federal law enforcement, creating unsafe environments due to lack of coordination.
