A Mexican national residing illegally in Beaumont has admitted to an immigration violation, as announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs.
Jesus Adame-Nunez, 43, confessed to the charge of illegal reentry by a previously deported person before U.S. Magistrate Judge Zack Hawthorn on July 10, 2025.
Court documents revealed that Adame-Nunez was apprehended in Beaumont on February 11, 2025, following an investigation that showed he had been deported from the United States to Mexico in 2006.
Adame-Nunez could face up to two years in federal prison and subsequent deportation upon sentencing. The maximum statutory sentence is noted for informational purposes; however, the court will determine the final sentence based on advisory guidelines and other statutory factors. A sentencing hearing will be scheduled post completion of a presentence investigation by the U.S. Probation Office.
This case falls under Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative utilizing Department of Justice resources to combat illegal immigration and dismantle cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), while safeguarding communities from violent crime perpetrators. The operation coordinates efforts from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
The Department of Homeland Security-Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted the investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Chris Jackson prosecuting the case.
