LLK Trading Inc. is recalling its 200g packages of "Needle Mushrooms" due to potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes. This organism can cause serious infections in vulnerable populations and pose risks such as miscarriages for pregnant women. While healthy individuals might experience only mild symptoms, the recalled mushrooms were distributed to Bally Produce Corp. in Maspeth, NY, and sold at Datang Supermarket Inc.
The product is packaged in a 200 gram clear plastic package with a blue non-transparent bottom. No illnesses have been reported so far related to this issue.
The FDA discovered the contamination during routine testing, which prompted the recall. The vending of these mushrooms has been halted while the FDA and LLK Trading investigate the contamination source.
Consumers who purchased these mushrooms are advised not to consume them and should return them for a refund. For inquiries, consumers can contact LLK Trading from Monday to Friday between 9:30 am and 3:00 pm EST at (908)-290-3061.
