Senator Joni Ernst recognizes Groom Curriculum as Small Business of the Week

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, representing Iowa and serving as the Chair of the Senate Small Business Committee, has named Groom Curriculum in Palo Alto County as her Small Business of the Week. This recognition is part of a broader initiative by Senator Ernst to highlight a small business in each of Iowa's 99 counties during the 119th Congress.

Senator Ernst commented on the achievement: “Since 2022, founder of Groom Curriculum Sierra Elbert has led the pack in pet grooming education. Through a 10-week long curriculum, students can earn a professional grooming credential that will help them make a pawsitive impact on the pet industry in Emmetsburg and beyond.”

Groom Curriculum was established by Sierra Elbert in 2022 with the goal of educating individuals on the details of pet grooming. The business offers a nationally accredited program spanning ten weeks, which equips students with skills to become proficient applicants in the field. The organization collaborates with various community college programs, workforce training organizations, and registered apprenticeship programs to ensure that their practices align with educational standards set by The American Kennel Club.

Senator Ernst will continue to recognize small businesses across Iowa through her Small Business of the Week award.
