World Market has announced a recall of its Emek Spread Pistachio Cacao Cream with Kadayif due to potential Salmonella contamination. The product, which is packaged in 9.7 oz jars and marked with the best before date of April 1, 2027, under batch number 250401, was found to be contaminated following testing by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Salmonella can cause severe infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms include fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. In some cases, it may lead to more serious conditions like arterial infections or arthritis.
The recall affects products distributed between June 11 and July 9, 2025. These were sold mainly in World Market stores across various states including Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado among others.
No illnesses have been reported so far related to this product. Consumers are advised not to consume the affected products but instead return them for a full refund or dispose of them safely.
