Arlington, Va – The Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) has expressed approval of the House's passage of the fiscal year 2026 defense appropriations bill. Eric Fanning, President and CEO of AIA, emphasized the importance of timely and adequate funding for national defense.
“On-time and sufficient appropriations for our national defense are essential to deterring our adversaries, equipping our military, and building our defense industrial base,” stated Fanning. He noted that this vote is a signal for the industry to continue innovating to stay ahead of adversaries. However, he expressed concern that while the funding matches the President’s budget request, it may not align with current threat levels.
Fanning called for increased funding as Congress continues with the FY26 appropriations process to address emerging national security needs. He highlighted AIA's commitment to working with Congress to finalize this legislation before the end of the fiscal year.
