Arlington, Va. – Eric Fanning, President and CEO of the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), expressed approval for the recent markup of the FY26 National Defense Authorization Act by House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-AL) and Ranking Member Adam Smith (D-WA).
“Building the capacity of the defense industrial base is essential to our national security, and H.R. 3838, the Streamlining Procurement for Effective Execution and Delivery and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026, will help enable that growth,” said Fanning. “We appreciate the leadership of Chairman Rogers and Ranking Member Smith, as well as the overwhelming bipartisan support of committee members, in assembling this bill."
Fanning highlighted that proposals within the bill aim to streamline bureaucratic acquisition processes and adjust procurement thresholds. He noted these changes would lower barriers to entry, strengthen the defense industrial base, and enhance America's defense posture.
“These are enduring priorities for our members," Fanning stated. "We are encouraged to see the committee take an 'all-of-the-above' approach to our national defense, one that empowers the entire defense industrial base to deliver capabilities to our warfighters in an accelerated and streamlined way."
Fanning concluded by expressing a commitment to continue working with Congress on transformative legislation supporting strategic national defense.
