Ronte Ricardo Greene, a 29-year-old resident of the District of Columbia, has been sentenced to 108 months in federal prison. The sentencing occurred today in U.S. District Court for his involvement in a fentanyl trafficking conspiracy. This operation distributed hundreds of thousands of lethal fentanyl-laced pills from Southern California to various parts of the United States, including Washington D.C.

The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Jeanine Ferris Pirro. Greene, who is also known by the alias “Cardiddy,” entered a guilty plea on February 27, 2025. He admitted to conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute 40 grams of fentanyl. In addition to his prison sentence, Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly mandated that Greene serve five years under supervised release.

The announcement was supported by Special Agent in Charge Ibrar A. Mian of the Drug Enforcement Administration Washington Division, Inspector in Charge Damon Wood of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, and Chief Pamela Smith of the Metropolitan Police Department.

Court documents reveal that Greene joined the conspiracy in 2022 after being introduced to a Los Angeles-based drug trafficker who distributed counterfeit pills wholesale. His role involved traveling to Southern California, purchasing the fentanyl-laced pills, and selling them upon returning to the DMV area.

Greene reportedly flaunted his earnings from drug trafficking on social media by posting photos with large sums of cash. At the time of his arrest on November 15, 2023, he possessed approximately 100 fentanyl-laced pills.

This case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation aimed at identifying and dismantling high-level drug traffickers and criminal organizations threatening the United States through a collaborative approach involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

The prosecution followed a joint investigation conducted by DEA Washington Division and USPIS Washington Division alongside partners like the Metropolitan Police Department and ATF. The DEA Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside Field Offices; FBI’s Washington Field Office; Charles County Sheriff’s Office; and U.S. Attorney’s Offices across several districts provided valuable support during this investigation.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Matthew Kinskey, Solomon Eppel, and Iris McCranie from the Violent Crimes and Narcotics Trafficking Division are prosecuting this case.
