Nirwana Foods recalls golden raisin pouches over undeclared sulfites

Nirwana Foods, based in New Jersey, has announced a recall of its 28-ounce Golden Raisin pouches due to undeclared sulfites. The affected lot number is 24/351-2410. Individuals with sulfite allergies could face serious or life-threatening reactions if they consume these products.

The recalled raisins were sold at Maharaja Super Market and Villager Farmers Market locations in New York and New Jersey. They are packaged in clear plastic pouches with the specified lot number on top and an expiration date of October 31, 2025. The UPC code for this product is 712321993144.

To date, there have been no reports of illnesses or allergic reactions related to this product.

The recall was prompted by routine sampling conducted by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors. Subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel found that the Golden Raisin pouches contained sulfites not disclosed on the packaging.
