U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced the expansion of its Mobile Passport Control (MPC) application to Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport and Fairbanks International Airport. This app aims to streamline entry into the United States for eligible travelers.

The MPC app is available for U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, Canadian B1/B2 citizen visitors, and returning Visa Waiver Program travelers with an approved Electronic System for Travel Authorization form. It allows users to submit passport and travel information in advance using a mobile device, reducing congestion and enhancing processing efficiency.

Travelers can download the app for free from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. After downloading, users create a profile with their passport information before arriving at a CBP facility. Up to 12 profiles can be submitted in one transaction. Upon arrival at participating locations, travelers take a selfie for each group member and submit their information through the MPC app. In the CBP clearance area, they should use designated MPC lanes and present passports or U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident cards to CBP officers.

MPC is currently available at 55 locations, including 35 U.S. international airports, 14 Preclearance airport locations, and four seaports of entry. More details on MPC user eligibility can be found on the CBP MPC website.

CBP describes itself as America's frontline law enforcement organization with over 65,000 personnel dedicated to protecting America across various domains while facilitating safe travel and trade.
