The Republican Main Street Caucus (RMSC) has elected Rep. Mike Flood from Nebraska as its new chair. Rep. Flood expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him by his colleagues and acknowledged the work of his predecessor, Rep. Dusty Johnson, in strengthening the caucus's influence in Congress.
"It is an honor to serve as the next chair of the Republican Main Street Caucus," said Rep. Flood. He emphasized his commitment to continuing efforts to support conservative priorities, manage federal spending, and create jobs.
Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana praised the selection, stating, "Main Street Republicans have made an exceptional selection with their new chairman, Congressman Mike Flood." He noted Flood's importance within the GOP Conference and expressed confidence in his leadership.
Rep. Dusty Johnson, who led the caucus since 2023, also commended Flood: "Mike Flood is a hard worker who is focused on commonsense solutions for America."
Rep. Stephanie Bice from Oklahoma reflected on her experience with Flood in the caucus: "While serving as a member and leader of the Main Street Caucus, I have had the opportunity to watch Mike Flood emerge as a powerful voice advocating for a pro-growth, pro-America agenda."
The RMSC comprises over 80 pragmatic conservatives committed to economic, business, environmental, and national security policies. The caucus aims to govern thoughtfully and pragmatically.
Rep. Flood announced that existing RSMC staff would continue their roles: Briana Connolly as Executive Director, Taylor Gage as Communications Director, and Austin Stewart as Operations Director.
