U.S. Senators Jerry Moran and Richard Blumenthal have introduced a bill aimed at ensuring veterans' benefits keep pace with inflation. The proposed Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment of 2025 (COLA) Act seeks to increase certain benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs, including disability compensation, clothing allowances, and dependency and indemnity compensation for surviving spouses and children.

Senator Moran stated, "We have a commitment to care for our veterans and their families, and the annual cost-of-living adjustment makes certain VA benefits are keeping up with changes in our economy." He emphasized that these adjustments will support veterans living with disabilities, their dependents, and survivors by aligning with inflation and Social Security benefit increases.

Senator Blumenthal added, "Veterans deserve a fair shake amid the rising costs of housing and inflation. I’m proud to join Chairman Moran to introduce this legislation that will make sure veterans and their families’ VA benefits are keeping pace with these costs."

The legislation is co-sponsored by Senators John Boozman, Patty Murray, Bill Cassidy, Bernie Sanders, Thom Tillis, Mazie Hirono, Kevin Cramer, Maggie Hassan, Tommy Tuberville, Angus King Jr., Jim Banks, Tammy Duckworth, Ruben Gallego, and Elissa Slotkin.
