Philadelphia man sentenced for child pornography offenses

United States Attorney David Metcalf announced the sentencing of Pascal Gedeon, 31, from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Gedeon received a prison term of 165 months followed by five years of supervised release for offenses related to child pornography. The sentence was handed down by United States District Judge Kai N. Scott.

Gedeon was indicted in May 2021 and pleaded guilty last year to charges involving the distribution and attempted distribution of child pornography. These charges stemmed from his use of a Tumblr blog to share graphic content involving children.

Court documents reveal that Gedeon operated a blog named “younger-are-the-best,” where he uploaded numerous images and videos depicting child sexual abuse. He also engaged in chats with other users, exchanging illicit material through various online platforms.

This case falls under Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child exploitation on the internet. This program involves collaboration among federal, state, and local resources to apprehend offenders and protect victims.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Eileen Castilla Geiger and Kelly Harrell.
