A federal grand jury in Florence has indicted Brandon Brill, 26, of Berkeley County on charges related to child sexual abuse material and coercion and enticement of minors. The indictment accuses Brill, who worked as a nanny and childcare provider in South Carolina, of exploiting at least six minor victims from June 2023 until his arrest in February 2025.
The allegations state that Brill used his position to gain access to children by inviting them for activities such as playing video games and sleepovers. He allegedly exploited the trust placed in him as a caregiver to reach additional minors. If convicted, Brill could face a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative launched by the U.S. Department of Justice in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse. The project involves collaboration between federal, state, and local resources to prosecute offenders and rescue victims.
The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations along with the Mount Pleasant Police Department and the Moncks Corner Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Amy Bower is handling the prosecution.
It is important to note that all charges are accusations at this stage, and defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
