David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that Daqwon Graham, also known as "Seagull" and "Energy," 31, of Ansonia, has pleaded guilty to a fentanyl trafficking charge. The plea was entered before U.S. District Judge Vernon D. Oliver in Hartford.
According to court documents and statements made in court, Graham was identified by the Drug Enforcement Administration's Bridgeport High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) Task Force and Stamford Police Department as a major distributor of fentanyl in Fairfield County. Investigators linked his drug activities to two overdose deaths: a male victim in Branford in March 2023 and a female victim in Shelton in October 2024. Controlled purchases of fentanyl from Graham were made by investigators in January and February 2025.
Graham was arrested on February 26, 2025, on High Ridge Road in Stamford with more than 400 grams of fentanyl.
Graham admitted guilt to possession with intent to distribute over 400 grams of fentanyl. This offense carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years imprisonment and could lead to life imprisonment. Sentencing is set for October 16.
Since his arrest, Graham has remained detained.
The investigation was conducted by the DEA’s Bridgeport HIDTA Task Force with assistance from multiple local police departments. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren C. Clark is prosecuting the case.
