A Mexican national, Luis Fernando Lara Uribe, was sentenced in Boston for unlawfully reentering the United States after deportation. The sentencing took place yesterday in federal court.
U.S. Senior District Court Judge William G. Young sentenced Lara Uribe, 49, to one year and one day in prison. Following his sentence, he will be subject to deportation. In April 2025, Lara Uribe admitted guilt to one count of unlawful reentry of a deported alien.
Lara Uribe had been deported five times before, with the last deportation occurring in February 2015. He unlawfully returned to the United States sometime after that removal.
The announcement was made by United States Attorney Leah B. Foley and Patricia H. Hyde, Field Office Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Enforcement and Removal Operations in Boston. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert E. Richardson from the Major Crimes Unit prosecuted the case.
