David X. Sullivan, U.S. Attorney for the District of Connecticut, has announced that Sasha May, formerly known as Owen May, 24, from Pelham, New York, has pleaded guilty to a child exploitation offense. The plea was entered before U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport.

Court documents reveal that between December 2023 and May 2024, May engaged in online conversations with an undercover law enforcement officer on messaging platforms Kik and Whisper. During these interactions, May expressed sexual interest in children and distributed child pornography.

May admitted guilt to possession and access with intent to view child pornography, an offense punishable by up to 20 years imprisonment. Sentencing is scheduled for October 16.

After being arrested on August 26, 2024, following a criminal complaint, May was released on a $100,000 bond and remains under home confinement with electronic monitoring until sentencing.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI’s Child Exploitation Task Force alongside the Greenwich Police Department and the Pelham Police Department. This task force includes various federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. Assistant U.S. Attorney Christopher Lembo is prosecuting the case.

This prosecution is part of the U.S. Department of Justice’s Project Safe Childhood Initiative aimed at protecting children from sexual abuse and exploitation. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.justice.gov/psc.
