Erie man sentenced to six years in prison for fentanyl trafficking

A former Erie resident has been sentenced to six years in federal prison for drug and firearms offenses. Djimon Dapree Johnson, 27, received the sentence from United States District Judge Susan Paradise Baxter on July 24, 2025. Following his imprisonment, Johnson will undergo four years of supervised release.

Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti announced the sentencing. According to court information, Johnson was found with intent to distribute over 382 grams of a fentanyl mixture on October 20, 2021. He also possessed two stolen firearms and a 50-round drum magazine as a convicted felon. Federal law prohibits such possession by felons.

Johnson's new sentence will be served consecutively to an existing sentence for violating parole related to an unlicensed firearm conviction.

Assistant United States Attorney Molly W. Anglin prosecuted the case for the government. Acting U.S. Attorney Rivetti praised the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Pennsylvania State Police for their role in the investigation leading to Johnson's prosecution.
