Cesar A. Lobo-Ramos, a 38-year-old Honduran national, was sentenced to 24 months in federal prison for illegal re-entry into the United States after deportation. The sentence was announced by Acting U.S. Attorney Michael M. Simpson on July 22, 2025, and handed down by U.S. District Judge Brandon S. Long.
Lobo-Ramos had previously been deported on April 10, 2018. His presence in the United States came to the attention of Immigration and Customs Enforcement following his arrest by the Kenner Police Department on November 2, 2023, for resisting arrest and obstruction of police.
Due to a prior conviction for sexual battery in Jefferson Parish in 2010, Lobo-Ramos faced an enhanced statutory maximum sentence of up to 20 years.
Acting U.S. Attorney Simpson commended the efforts of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency and the Kenner Police Department for their roles in investigating this case. Assistant United States Attorney Carter K.D. Guice, Jr., from the General Crimes Unit, led the prosecution.
