Hillside Orchard Farms has issued a recall of its 23oz Fruit Breads and 7.5oz Fritters due to the presence of undeclared egg, which could pose a risk for individuals with egg allergies. The recall follows an investigation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on July 17, 2025, which revealed that the egg allergen was omitted from product labels during a label reprint.
The affected products were distributed between November 18, 2024, and July 16, 2025. They were sold in clear plastic packaging primarily at farm markets and roadside stands across Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina.
No illnesses have been reported in connection with these products so far.
"This recall is being made with the knowledge of the Food and Drug Administration."
Consumers who purchased these items are advised to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund or discard them. For questions about the recall, consumers can contact Kiley Mitcham Houston, VP Operations at Hillside Orchard Farms at 706-782-4995 during business hours Monday through Friday.
