A federal grand jury in Kansas City, Kansas, has indicted Brooke Haller, a 40-year-old nurse from Kansas City, Missouri, on charges related to the illegal acquisition of controlled substances. According to court documents, Haller faces four counts of possession of a controlled substance by deception and subterfuge.
Prosecutors allege that Haller obtained Percocet and Oxycodone through misrepresentation and fraud. She made her initial appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Angel D. Mitchell on July 25, 2025.
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is leading the investigation into the case. Assistant U.S. Attorney Faiza Alhambra is handling the prosecution.
Officials emphasize that an indictment is only an allegation and that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
