A Pike Road resident, Treneal De’Ron Beasley, 25, has been sentenced to 72 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to illegal possession of a machinegun. The sentencing was announced by Acting United States Attorney Kevin Davidson on July 31, 2025. Following his prison term, Beasley will be subject to three years of supervised release. There is no option for parole in the federal system.
The incident began on August 17, 2024, when Montgomery Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance call. The report stated that the caller’s child’s father was trying to force entry into her home. Officers arrived at the scene and heard an argument inside the residence. Upon entering, they found Beasley holding a handgun and took him into custody. The firearm was confiscated.
Subsequent examination showed that the handgun had been fitted with a machinegun conversion device known as a “switch.” This device allows a semi-automatic firearm to function as a fully automatic weapon and can fire up to 20 rounds per second with one trigger pull.
Beasley pleaded guilty to possession of a machinegun on March 26, 2025.
The case was investigated by the Montgomery Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). Assistant United States Attorney J. Patrick Lamb prosecuted the case.
