A federal grand jury has indicted Rahm Klampert, a 45-year-old resident of Hartford, Vermont, on charges related to drug possession with intent to distribute. The indictment was returned on July 31, 2025. Klampert is a two-time U.S. Open snowboarding champion.

During an arraignment before United States Magistrate Judge Kevin J. Doyle on the same day, Klampert pleaded not guilty to the charges. Judge Doyle ordered that Klampert remain detained while the case proceeds.

Court records indicate that law enforcement executed a search warrant at both Klampert’s home and his personal training studio, Rahm’s Results, in Hartford on June 20, 2025. Authorities report seizing about 1.1 kilograms of methamphetamine, 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, and 75 grams of fentanyl from these locations. In addition to the drugs, officers recovered twelve firearms—including suspected short-barreled shotguns, assault rifles, and handguns—three of which were identified as stolen. Other items seized included a money-counter machine and over $100,000 in cash. Multiple sources informed law enforcement that Klampert was allegedly involved in drug trafficking activities in the Hartford area.

The United States Attorney’s Office stated: “An indictment contains allegations only and that Klampert is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.” If convicted, Klampert faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years in prison and could be sentenced up to life imprisonment. Sentencing would be determined by the District Court based on advisory United States Sentencing Guidelines and statutory factors.

Acting United States Attorney Michael P. Drescher said: “I commend the investigatory efforts of the Hartford Police Department, the Vermont State Police, the Vermont Drug Task Force, the Brattleboro Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations.”

Assistant United States Attorney Corinne Smith and Special Assistant United States Attorney Charles W. Kirkham are prosecuting the case. Assistant Federal Public Defender Charles Curlett represents Klampert.
