The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is continuing its partnership with libraries nationwide to provide resources that help people recognize, avoid, and report scams. As part of this initiative, the FTC will hold an office hours session for librarians on August 12, 2025.
The event offers an opportunity for participants to ask questions about consumer protection or discuss ideas for programming. The session is open and free to attend.
"Got questions about a consumer protection topic? Want to brainstorm about programming? Join a free upcoming office hours session," the FTC said in its announcement.
Librarians and interested individuals can join the session at 2 p.m. Eastern Time via Zoom using Meeting ID 161 258 0692 and passcode 304565. The session can also be accessed by phone through several U.S. numbers, including toll-free options.
This effort is part of the FTC's ongoing work with community organizations like libraries to educate the public on consumer protection issues.
