Pittsburgh man receives over five years for armed fentanyl trafficking

A Pittsburgh man has been sentenced to more than five years in federal prison after being convicted of fentanyl trafficking and possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking, according to an announcement from Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti.

Senior United States District Judge David S. Cercone sentenced Marques Coffey, 21, to 63 months of imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release on August 5, 2025.

Court records show that on March 4, 2023, Coffey was found in possession of fentanyl with the intent to distribute. Law enforcement also recovered a Glock handgun equipped with an automatic conversion kit from a satchel Coffey was wearing at the time.

Assistant United States Attorney Nicole A. Stockey prosecuted the case for the government.

Acting United States Attorney Rivetti stated, "I commend the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the Bellevue Borough Police Department for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Coffey."
