ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STORY

Friendly’s Ice Cream has announced a voluntary recall of 324 cartons of its 48 fl. oz. Cookies & Cream ice cream due to undeclared soy and wheat ingredients. The affected product was mistakenly placed in Friendly’s Vanilla Bean ice cream cartons with a Cookies & Cream lid. According to the company, individuals with allergies or sensitivities to soy or wheat could face serious health risks if they consume this product.

The recalled ice cream was distributed through UNFI, a single distribution center, to retail stores located in Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Only products packaged in a 48 fl. oz. Friendly’s Vanilla Bean carton with a Cookies & Cream lid and a best by date of 11/26/25 are impacted by this recall. No other Friendly’s products are involved.

Friendly’s initiated the recall after discovering that some Cookies & Cream ice cream had been packaged in Vanilla Bean cartons that did not list soy and wheat among the ingredients. There have been no reports of illnesses or adverse reactions linked to this incident.

"This recall is being made with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration."

Customers who purchased these specific containers can return them to their place of purchase for a full refund. For further questions, consumers may contact the company at 800-587-2259.
