Victoriano Ponce-Garcia, a 53-year-old Mexican national, has been sentenced to time served for unlawful reentry into the United States. The sentencing was announced by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
Ponce-Garcia pleaded guilty on May 27, 2025, after being found in Oklahoma on April 11, 2025. Investigators stated that he had previously been removed from the U.S. in both 2009 and 2020 and had not obtained permission from the Secretary of Homeland Security to return.
The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement Division along with the Coalgate Police Department.
This prosecution is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative by the Department of Justice that aims to address illegal immigration and related criminal activity. The operation brings together resources from programs such as the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETFs) and Project Safe Neighborhood (PSN).
Chief U.S. District Judge Ronald A. White presided over the hearing in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma. Assistant U.S. Attorney Dak T. Cohen represented the government.
