Former President Donald J. Trump announced on his Truth Social account that a press conference focused on crime and city "beautification" would take place the following day at 10:00 A.M. EST in the Press Briefing Room.
In a post dated August 10, 2025, Trump stated, "The Press Conference on Crime and 'Beautification' will be held tomorrow, at 10:00 A.M. EST, in the Press Briefing Room, and it will not only involve ending the Crime, Murder, and Death in our Nation’s Capital, but will also be". The announcement did not provide further details about additional topics to be discussed.
A subsequent post from Trump on August 10 included only a timestamp and a link: "Donald J. Trump Truth Social 08.10.25 01:40 PM EST https://t.co/OSO6QmhkIA". Another message posted shortly after contained two more links without commentary: "https://t.co/uKvuUlyGdM https://t.co/HmcEN37n8E".
Donald J. Trump has continued to use social media platforms such as Truth Social to communicate announcements regarding public policy issues and events since leaving office in January 2021.
