Robert Lee Taylor, 44, of Huntington, has been sentenced to three years and five months in federal prison for possession with intent to distribute heroin and for violating the terms of his supervised release. Following his prison term, Taylor will be subject to three years of supervised release.
Court records show that on March 19, 2025, law enforcement searched a residence in Huntington with consent and discovered about 104 grams of heroin, digital scales, and packaging materials stored in a tote on the back deck. Taylor admitted he possessed the heroin with the intent to distribute it. He also acknowledged selling approximately seven grams of heroin for $491 to a confidential informant at the same location one day before the search.
During execution of a search warrant at Taylor’s home on March 19, officers seized around $8,661. Taylor confirmed that this money was from selling heroin.
At the time these offenses occurred, Taylor was already on supervised release after previously pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl in United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia on May 1, 2023. The new sentence includes an additional eight months due to committing another crime while under supervision.

United States District Judge Robert C. Chambers imposed the sentence. Assistant United States Attorney Courtney L. Finney prosecuted the case.
