U.S. Secretary of Labor Lori Chavez-DeRemer has completed a tour through Idaho, Utah, Wisconsin, and Wyoming as part of her “America at Work” listening initiative. The purpose of the trip was to engage directly with workers, business leaders, and local officials to discuss the Trump Administration’s efforts on workforce training and job opportunities.

“In just 200 days, President Trump has jumpstarted the American economy and ushered in a new Golden Age of prosperity by putting workers, families, and job creators back at the center of our economic agenda,” said Secretary Chavez-DeRemer. “That momentum is clear everywhere I go on my ‘America at Work’ listening tour. From celebrating apprentices in Idaho to meeting with construction workers in Wisconsin, American workers are energized by the President’s pro-worker policies. Through the One Big, Beautiful Bill Act, we are equipping them with the tools they need to build a secure future by allowing them to keep more of their hard-earned money.”

In Wisconsin, Chavez-DeRemer visited Husco International in Waukesha where she toured production facilities for hydraulic components used in automotive equipment. She also met interns and discussed departmental commitments to creating career pathways for younger generations.

While in Mequon, she visited an emergency veterinary care center construction site managed by Keller Inc., discussing workforce needs with onsite construction employees and highlighting how expanded Pell Grant access under current legislation supports local training programs.

In Boise, Idaho, Chavez-DeRemer toured Micron Technology Inc.’s chip manufacturing plant and attended an apprenticeship graduation ceremony where five journeymen entered the workforce and 23 new apprentices were welcomed into Micron’s program. She stressed the importance of Registered Apprenticeships toward reaching presidential goals for apprenticeship expansion.

The visit continued at Perpetua Resources Corp.’s Stibnite Gold Project in Cascade where discussions centered around securing mineral supply chains and supporting domestic job creation. A roundtable was held with company representatives and educational leaders about mining-related employment opportunities.

In Wyoming, Secretary Chavez-DeRemer toured a coal mine where she spoke directly with miners about workplace safety and training initiatives necessary for sustaining local communities.

Her Utah stops included a Salt Lake City roundtable with Rep. Celeste Maloy focused on workforce development issues. The tour concluded at Hexcel Corp., which manufactures advanced composite materials for aerospace and industrial use; here she observed research activities aimed at strengthening U.S. competitiveness through technology innovation.

Secretary Chavez-DeRemer emphasized throughout her visits that recent legislative actions are providing tangible support for American workers while aiming to maintain competitiveness within future labor markets.
