Secretary of State Marco Rubio held a conversation with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on August 12, 2025. According to Spokesperson Tammy Bruce, the discussion focused on the situation in Gaza and included topics such as expanding humanitarian aid, efforts to free hostages, and actions aimed at eliminating Hamas.
The officials also addressed broader regional concerns, including developments in Lebanon and Syria.
"The Secretary and the Foreign Minister discussed the situation in Gaza, including efforts to expand the distribution of humanitarian assistance, free the hostages, and eliminate Hamas. The two also discussed regional issues, including Lebanon and Syria," said Bruce.
This call is part of ongoing diplomatic engagement between the United States and Saudi Arabia regarding key security and humanitarian challenges in the Middle East.
