A New York man has been sentenced to five years of probation for making numerous harassing and threatening communications to a Connecticut resident. Elijah Whyte, 30, of White Plains, received the sentence from U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport.
According to court documents and statements made in court, Whyte sent 1,330 text messages, made 72 phone calls, and left three voicemail messages between August and October 2023. Many of these communications contained threats and harassment involving the victim’s safety, children, home, and hometown.
Whyte had been detained since November 1, 2023. He pleaded guilty on May 16, 2025, to making repeated harassing telephone communications.
David X. Sullivan, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, stated: “ELIJAH WHYTE, 30, of White Plains, New York, was sentenced yesterday by U.S. District Judge Kari A. Dooley in Bridgeport to five years of probation for making numerous harassing and threatening communications.”
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Daniel George.
