The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced that approximately 1.6 million people who were in the United States illegally have left the country during Secretary Kristi Noem’s first 200 days in office.
“In less than 200 days, 1.6 MILLION illegal immigrants have left the United States population,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. “This is massive. This means safer streets, taxpayer savings, pressure off of schools and hospital services and better job opportunities for Americans. Thank you, President Trump!”
During this period, DHS launched an international advertising campaign aimed at encouraging those without legal status to leave the U.S. voluntarily. The campaign included warnings about potential arrest, deportation, and fines for those who remain.
Secretary Noem also ended the CBP One App, which had previously allowed more than one million people to enter the country illegally, according to DHS. The app has been replaced by the CBP Home App as part of Operation Homecoming. This new application allows individuals to manage their own departure from the U.S., with incentives such as $1,000 and a free flight for self-deportation.
Targeted operations by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have focused on removing individuals with criminal records from the country.
According to DHS officials, these efforts have led to noticeable changes nationwide, including reduced demand on public services and increased availability of jobs in local markets.
