Two men indicted for December St. Louis carjackings; two women face related charges

Two men have been indicted in connection with two carjackings that occurred in St. Louis in December 2024, while two women are facing charges for allegedly assisting in one of the incidents.

Davion Pruitt, 18, from St. Louis, and Tywone Calvin, 19, from Pine Lawn, were each charged on July 30 in U.S. District Court in St. Louis with two counts of carjacking and two counts of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. Mya Reagan, 19, and Evanna Myers-Taylor, 20, are charged with one count of carjacking and one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence.

Pruitt, Calvin, and Reagan appeared before the court on Thursday and entered not guilty pleas.

According to the indictment, all four individuals participated in the armed carjacking of a 2011 Cadillac Escalade on December 23, 2024. The document also states that Pruitt and Calvin stole a 2017 Chevrolet Trax three days later.

Court motions seeking pretrial detention for Pruitt and Calvin allege that the first victim met a woman through Facebook and arranged to pick her up using his SUV. She reportedly asked him to stop at a gas station for cigars; there, two armed men demanded his keys. After police released an image of the woman involved, authorities identified Reagan as the individual who arranged the meeting and Myers-Taylor as another passenger present during the incident.

The second carjacking victim was alerted by his key fob about suspicious activity involving his vehicle. When he went outside to investigate, he encountered two armed men who took his keys, phone, and SUV. Police later located the stolen Chevrolet Trax with Pruitt and Calvin inside. According to investigators, Calvin was arrested after crashing the vehicle during an attempt to flee police officers; Pruitt was taken into custody on February 14, 2025.

"Charges set forth in an indictment are merely accusations and do not constitute proof of guilt. Every defendant is presumed to be innocent unless and until proven guilty."

The investigation involved the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, St. Louis County Police Department, and the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Torrie J. Schneider is handling prosecution duties for this case.
