FROMI USA, based in New York, has announced a recall of 12 cases of Brie Royal Faucon 1kg cheese due to the potential presence of Listeria monocytogenes. This bacterium can cause serious infections, especially in young children, elderly individuals, and those with weakened immune systems. Symptoms for healthy people may include fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Pregnant women are at risk for miscarriages or stillbirths if infected.

The affected cheese was distributed to Cheese Plate Park Slope LLC at 400 7th Avenue in Brooklyn and sold to customers at both Cheese Plate Brooklyn - Park Slope LLC and Cheese Plate Brooklyn : Carroll Gardens between July 24 and August 13, 2025.

Brie Royal Faucon 1kg is made from pasteurized cow’s milk and comes packed two units per case in wooden boxes. The product is sold either whole or cut into portions. Lot number 615 appears on each box and case.

The recall follows notification by the foreign manufacturer’s health authorities regarding possible contamination of some products with Listeria monocytogenes. No illnesses related to this cheese have been reported in the United States so far.

Customers who purchased the recalled product are advised to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. For questions, consumers can contact FROMI USA at +1 212 583 4920 during business hours.
