Iraqi national sentenced for distributing fentanyl from Glen Allen hotel room

An Iraqi national living in Henrico, Virginia, has been sentenced to over 15 years in prison for possessing fentanyl with the intent to distribute. According to court documents, Yasir H. Al Sheikh Mohammed, 28, was conducting drug transactions from a Glen Allen hotel room rented by his girlfriend, Destiny Aleeyona Deaver Lindore, 24. Lindore assisted Mohammed in packaging fentanyl pills and was present during the transactions.

Authorities arrested Mohammed on July 25, 2023, after he and Lindore traveled to a nearby pharmacy. While Lindore was inside the business, law enforcement took Mohammed into custody on outstanding warrants. A search of their vehicle led officers to find 10 fentanyl tablets in Lindore’s purse along with $164 identified as drug proceeds.

Investigators also searched the hotel room where they recovered 1,060 tablets containing fentanyl marked “M” and “30,” which resembled Oxycodone pills. In addition, a handgun was found in Mohammed’s backpack and $3,890 in cash determined to be drug proceeds.

Mohammed pleaded guilty on November 15, 2024. He received a sentence of 15 years and eight months in prison on August 12. Lindore pleaded guilty two days earlier and was sentenced to four years of probation with an added condition of six months home confinement.
