A Las Vegas man, Devonte Devon Jackson, appeared in court Thursday following his arrest in Texas on charges related to the armed robbery of an armored truck outside a Las Vegas bank.

Jackson faces one count of interference with commerce by robbery and one count of brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. United States Magistrate Judge Elayna J. Youchah has set a jury trial for October 20, 2025.

Court documents state that on July 16, 2025, Jackson allegedly used a black handgun to steal about $327,620 from an armored truck outside a bank. He was arrested by Texas State Troopers in Centerville, Texas, on July 29 and extradited to Las Vegas to face federal charges.

If convicted, Jackson could receive up to 20 years in prison for interference with commerce by robbery and a mandatory consecutive sentence of seven years for brandishing a firearm. Sentencing will be determined by a federal district court judge after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

United States Attorney Sigal Chattah for the District of Nevada and Acting Special Agent in Charge Jeremy Schwartz for the FBI Las Vegas Division announced the charges.

The FBI and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department investigated the case. Assistant United States Attorney Tina M. Snellings is prosecuting.

"An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law."
