A Miami resident, Andre Alexander Pino, 45, has been sentenced to 97 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to distributing child sexual abuse material. The sentence was handed down by U.S. District Judge Robin L. Rosenberg.
Court records indicate that starting in May 2023, Pino used a mobile messaging app to communicate with someone he thought was a woman with a three-year-old son. During these exchanges, Pino encouraged the individual to sexually abuse her notional son and provided detailed instructions on how to do so.
In January 2024, Pino sent several videos containing child sexual abuse material to a chatroom that included the same individual. On February 26, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) executed a search warrant at his home and found a mobile phone with multiple videos of such material.
As part of his sentencing, Pino agreed to pay $5,000 in restitution to one of the victims depicted in the distributed material.
The announcement was made by U.S. Attorney Jason A. Reding Quiñones for the Southern District of Florida and acting Special Agent in Charge Jose R. Figueroa of HSI Miami.
HSI West Palm Beach and HSI Miami led the investigation into this case. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Katie Sadlo and Justin Chapman prosecuted.
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, an initiative started by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed at combating child sexual exploitation and abuse by bringing together federal, state, and local resources to identify offenders and rescue victims (https://www.justice.gov/psc).
