Jason R. Coody, U.S. Attorney | U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Florida
A Pensacola man has pleaded guilty to federal charges related to an armed robbery and shooting that occurred in December 2024. Ulysses Robinson, Jr., 41, admitted in court to interference with commerce by threat or violence, discharging a firearm during a crime of violence, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The announcement was made by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida.
U.S. Attorney Heekin stated: “Another violent felon has been taken off the streets of Pensacola thanks to the outstanding investigative work of our local partners working in conjunction with federal law enforcement. This is yet another successful prosecution under the Department of Justice’s Operation Take Back America, which is fulfilling the promise of President Donald J. Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi to protect our communities from the violent criminals terrorizing our streets.”
According to court records, on December 16, 2024, Robinson and his accomplice Ladarryl Paige entered a business on North Davis Highway where they held several people at gunpoint. They took about $10,000 in cash and marijuana from those present. During the incident, Robinson fired his weapon while forcing victims to comply with demands. Both suspects were identified through video footage and electronic evidence analyzed by investigators. Robinson had prior felony convictions.
Robinson could face up to life in prison when he is sentenced on November 13, 2025, at the United States Courthouse in Pensacola before Judge T. Kent Wetherell II.
The investigation was carried out by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives along with the Pensacola Police Department. Assistant United States Attorney David L. Goldberg is prosecuting the case.
This prosecution falls under Operation Take Back America (https://www.justice.gov/dag/media/1393746/dl?inline), an initiative by the Department of Justice aimed at addressing illegal immigration, dismantling cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and reducing violent crime nationwide through coordination among multiple agencies including OCDETFs and Project Safe Neighborhoods.
