An Arizona man has been indicted on federal charges for allegedly assaulting three people, including two minors, according to court documents released Wednesday. Kendrick Harvey, 35, who is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, is accused of causing serious bodily injury to one adult and endangering two minors during an incident that took place on September 16, 2024.
Authorities allege that Harvey assaulted Jane Doe, resulting in significant injuries. He also reportedly shoved a minor identified as John Doe and struck another minor, Jane Doe 2, with a closed fist. Both minors were placed in danger of serious harm as a result of the alleged actions.
Harvey faces charges of assault resulting in serious bodily injury and two counts of abandonment and abuse of a child. He will remain in custody while awaiting sentencing. If convicted on all counts, he could receive up to ten years in prison.
U.S. Attorney Ryan Ellison and Philip Russell, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Albuquerque Field Office, announced the indictment. The investigation was conducted by the Gallup Resident Agency of the FBI’s Albuquerque Field Office with help from the Navajo Nation Police Department and Navajo Department of Criminal Investigations. Assistant U.S. Attorney Amy Mondragon is prosecuting the case.
“An indictment is merely an allegation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law,” officials stated.
