Secretary of State Marco Rubio and New Zealand Minister for Foreign Affairs Winston Peters held a call to discuss several international issues, including the situations in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as developments in the Pacific Islands and economic relations between their countries. During the conversation, Secretary Rubio thanked New Zealand for its recent operation that helped evacuate certain U.S. personnel from McMurdo Station in Antarctica.
Both officials also reaffirmed the strong relationship between the United States and New Zealand.
