Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand in Washington to address several international issues. The meeting focused on supporting security efforts in Haiti and addressing challenges related to peace in Gaza, specifically citing ongoing obstruction by Hamas.
The two officials also discussed the current state of peace negotiations aimed at ending the Russia-Ukraine war. Additionally, they explored ways to enhance cooperation within the Western Hemisphere to respond more effectively to what they described as China’s coercive activities.

Secretary Rubio and Foreign Minister Anand also discussed peace negotiations to end the Russia-Ukraine war and mechanisms to strengthen our hemisphere’s response to China’s coercive activity.”
