Arizona man sentenced for drug trafficking conspiracy involving multiple states

Antonie Elbert Eaddy, a 49-year-old resident of Goodyear, Arizona, has been sentenced to 11 years in federal prison for his role in a drug conspiracy involving crack cocaine, cocaine, fentanyl, and marijuana. According to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of South Carolina, Eaddy conspired to possess with intent to distribute significant quantities of these drugs.

Investigators found that Eaddy and others were responsible for distributing at least five kilograms of cocaine, 400 grams or more of fentanyl, as well as crack cocaine and marijuana. Agents intercepted telephone calls in which Eaddy discussed sending cocaine and fentanyl from Arizona to South Carolina concealed in a box containing a clock. The proceeds from these sales were then sent back to him in Arizona.

Eaddy shipped packages containing drugs through the mail to cities including Columbia, Florence, Myrtle Beach, as well as locations in North Carolina, Maryland, and Florida. He also used couriers to transport drugs to the East Coast and return proceeds back to Arizona. Four other individuals involved in the conspiracy have also pleaded guilty.

United States District Court Judge Mary Geiger Lewis sentenced Eaddy to 135 months imprisonment followed by five years of court-ordered supervision. There is no parole available under the federal system.

The case was part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation. OCDETF uses a prosecutor-led approach that brings together federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies against high-level criminal networks.
