A Carrollton resident, Traylan Xavier Mosley, 21, has been sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for child exploitation offenses. The sentencing took place in Sherman, Texas, where U.S. District Judge Amos L. Mazzant, III delivered the sentence after Mosley pleaded guilty to advertising child pornography.
Court documents revealed that Mosley posed as an attractive girl online using photos he found on the internet. He used this false identity to persuade teen and pre-teen boys to send him sexually explicit images and videos. Mosley then compiled these materials into thumbnail images labeled with each victim's name and sold them through various social media platforms. In one instance, a customer purchased the entire collection for $950.
Federal investigators identified more than 45 children across the United States who were victimized by Mosley's actions. Authorities also referred leads to foreign law enforcement agencies when victims were located outside of the country.
Acting U.S. Attorney Jay R. Combs stated: "Traylan Xavier Mosley, 21, pleaded guilty to advertising child pornography and was sentenced to 360 months in federal prison by U.S. District Judge Amos L. Mazzant, III on August 26, 2025."
The case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative started in May 2006 aimed at addressing child sexual exploitation and abuse by coordinating resources among federal, state, and local agencies to identify offenders and rescue victims. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at www.justice.gov/psc.
The investigation was conducted by the Frisco Police Department and the FBI. Assistant U.S. Attorney Marisa Miller prosecuted the case.
